REMEB in the programme of CONAMA 2016, Spanish Congress for the Environment

REMEB was invited through FACSA to participate at the 13th National Congress for the Environment CONAMA 2016, which took place from 28th November to 1st December in the Auditorio del Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid, Spain.

Conama 2016 is conceived as a platform aimed to improve knowledge and capacities in the defence of the natural environment and biodiversity, the sustainable use of natural resources and the prevention of pollution and climate change.

The implementation of the circular economy, biodiversity and mitigation and adaptation to climate change are major axes that support the activities of the congress that address the environment in a broad sense, including nature conservation and waste management. The congress also includes issues like the model of energy transition, adaptation to climate change, commitment to electric mobility, building rehabilitation, urban water cycle, bioeconomics or sustainable supply in the agri-food industry.

REMEB has a contribution with several environmental priorities since this eco-friendly technology, currently under development, will valorise agricultural and industrial wastes and will help recover a great amount of wastewater which may be reused for urban, agricultural and industrial areas, through a recycled membrane bioreactor, which is one of the most advanced technologies existing in water treatment.

Guillermo Berlanga from Facsa participated with the REMEB H2020 project in a workshop on successful experiences with funded R&D projects whose results are to be implemented in the market.

The workshop was comprised by Cristina González from Plataforma Tecnológica de Química Sostenible, Lorenzo Chacón from Instituto Andaluz de Tecnología (IAT), Roberto Giralda from AINIA, Luis Cerdán from Mondo Tufting, Blanca Hermana from ECOLOTUM and Nekane González from Ecología, Reciclaje y Medio ambiente SL. It will be chaired by Mª José Tomás from Centro para el desarrollo tecnólogico e industrial (CDTI) and took place on Tuesday, 29th November at 16.00h.
